This is the question we hear most often: should the site be built on WordPress or coded from scratch? There is no universal answer. The right choice depends on what the site must do, who will manage it and how it will grow.
When WordPress is the better choice
- Business sites, blogs, portfolios and catalogues where content changes often.
- Teams that want to edit pages themselves without calling a developer.
- Projects that need to launch quickly with proven tools such as forms, SEO and online payments.
When custom development makes sense
- Web applications with unusual logic, user dashboards or complex calculations.
- Very high performance or security requirements that a general platform cannot meet.
- Products where the website is the service itself, not a marketing page.
Honest trade-offs
WordPress is faster and cheaper to start and easier to hand over, but it needs regular updates. Custom code gives full control and a lighter result, but every change goes through a developer and the first build takes longer.
We build both. Many of our projects are on WordPress, and we also make custom-coded and static websites when that is the better answer. We will tell you plainly which one we would pick for your case and why.
Frequently asked questions
Is a custom website always faster?
Not always. A well-built WordPress site with good hosting and caching can be very fast. Custom code only helps if it is written well.
Can I move from WordPress to a custom site later?
Yes. Content and URLs can be migrated, so starting on WordPress does not lock you in.
