A clear process keeps a website project on time and on budget. Here are the stages we follow, and what we usually need from you at each one.
The stages
- Brief: we discuss your goals, customers, competitors and the actions visitors should take.
- Structure: a page map and a simple wireframe, so everyone agrees on content before design.
- Design: the look of key pages, reviewed with you in a small number of rounds.
- Development: building the site, connecting forms, analytics and languages.
- Testing: phones, browsers, speed, forms and links are checked before anyone sees it.
- Launch and handover: going live, training for your team and a support plan.
What speeds things up
The biggest delays come from content: texts, logos and photos that arrive late. If you prepare them early and name one person who approves decisions, projects move much faster.
The same process applies whether we build on WordPress or use another technology. Only the development stage changes.
Frequently asked questions
What do you need from me to start?
Your business goals, a logo and brand colours if you have them, examples of sites you like, and the main texts and photos. We can help write or source what is missing.
How many design revisions are included?
This is agreed in the scope before work starts, usually two or three rounds, so feedback stays focused.
